This is the first division that introduces Tackle Football to our players. With the game being played on a smaller field, with fewer players, each player's opportunity to touch the ball and be involved in the play is increased. The focus will be on developing skills, fundamentals, and teamwork while staying active and having fun in an inclusive environment.
Gameplay: 6-a-side football on a modified field.
Eligibility: 8-10 years old, must turn 8 but not turn 11 in the calendar year. Open to all genders!
Spring Session: 2 weeks of Non-Contact practices and 1 week of full equipment/contact practices will be offered in May/June as an introduction to football. 2 Practices a week. We start with 2 weeks on non-contact as part of our commitment to the guidelines and goals of Long Term Athlete Development (https://coach.ca/sites/default/files/2020-02/CAC_7516A_11_LTAD_English_Brochure_FINAL.pdf)
Practice: 2 practices a week - Practices begin in June as part of Spring Camp. No Football in July. Practices will resume in August and run until almost the end of October. Practices are held at the Bethel Church Clubhouse and field. Located at 298 Bethel Dr, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 2C5
Games: One game per week. Game locations are in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Season: Season gameplay begins late August and continues to the end of October.
